Coys International Historic Festival '98
Engl. Titel:
Coys International Historic Festival '98
Genre:
The fesival was a superb recreation of British racing history with Alfa Romeo 158, Maserati 4CLT and 250F, ERA's, Vanwalls, Coopers, Lotus and Ferrari all racing once more in a 50th anniversary celebration, bringing the Northamptonshire circuit alive with their glorious engine sounds.
The Crowds were treated to display after display of spectacular motor racing with sportscars, 60s GP cars, single seaters of the 20's 30's and 40's and more. The 1950 Sportscar Race turned into a real humdinger with front-runner Frank Sytner in his Lister-Jaguar being bumped out of the race in the frenzied pace of the action. Jaguar E Type, ERA B Type, Lotus 15, Cooper Monaco, AC Cobra, Ferrari Dino 246 - all these "to-die-for" cars and many more were present throughout the festival weekend.
As well as seeing classic racing cars roaring round the world famous circuit it was also an opportunity to honour 50 years of Lotus with a sensational auction by Coys of Kensington - shaken not stirred with two Lotus Esprits used in the Bond films. For Your Eyes Only and the Spy Who Loved Me, a 1953 Ferrari 250 California, a 1962 Lotus 24 and the getaway car from the Great Train Robbery - a 1963 Lotus Cortina MkI.
For every enthusiast the eternal appeal of Coys is the cars. Every shape, size and pedigree, from Ferraris to Mini Coopers, there is simply no better place to see, hear, smell and touch some of the greatest cars ever to have raced or graced public roads with their presence. This superb action review is your record of another truly historic Coys festival presented by Chrysler. It features full racing highlights, interviews, pit stop dramas and all the best of an event that consistently brings together an astounding array of cherished automotive history.
